Turtles Go Slow
Let's Go Slow
A song to cue kiddos to go slower. Best if introduced before requesting slow feet. Pair with ASL for turtle. Introduce with turtle book or story and practice being turtles. Made to pair with other animals for contrast, like….you guessed it! Bunnies!
This song introduces movement while also providing connection between the way certain animals move and the way we want the kiddos to move.
Sign language or big/ little body movement
For example, the following animals can be used
Turtles go slow
Bunnies are quick
Snakes go slither
Use this song to:
Get big body movement in
Practice sign language
Set the stage and how you want kiddos to move
Remind kiddos of how we want to move ("turtle feet, please!"
